If I buy a console from Europe (EU 2 pin plug), can I just swap the plug lead to a UK one?

Hi there.

As the title says, if I buy a console from Europe, which I assume will come with a 2 pin EU plug. Am I simple able to replace the plug lead with a uk version?

Would this work fine & have no effect on the Xbox console?

Any help would be much appreciated.

3 pin kettle plug help.

As others have said either just buy an adapter (A shaver one will work, or buy a german extension lead from same german amazon site and pout a UK plug on that), or cut the 2 pin end off the cord and just add a UK plug.

As an ex UK Army member who worked in Germany for many years, there is no issues with using UK plugs to power German electronics. We often did the reverse. Kept all our UK electrics like TVs etc with UK plugs, but used a UK extension lead fitted with a
German plug

3 pin kettle plug help.

So, in short.

The xbox one (no kinect) is on the german amazon for £232 (found through hotdeals)

Now i'm going to assume this would come with a 2 pin European plug, my question is this...

1. Would i be able to just buy a UK 3 pin kettle plug and use it instead?

2. Will there be a problem with the fuses?

3. Are European xbox's not designed to work with a 3pin UK plug?

The console is multi voltage, so should support the UK 240V, just purchase a lead with a 5 amp 3 pin plug on it, and the console should work fine.

A European mains cable would be useless in Ireland as Ireland uses exactly the same 3-pin plug and socket as the rest of the UK.
Different countries around Europe use completely different plugs to each other and the UK.
Just pick up a cable from a local electrical shop once you get there.

if it is the coloured cables connected to a scart lead (cable with loads of little metal pins) and it need to be switched with another from a sat-tv box you can buy connecter with 2 scart plugs that lead into 1 plug. but the other device needs to be off
(standby) for the other to work otherwise they will both try and send a pic to the tv at the same time
