If i activate another 12 month subscription does it add on to my current sub?

I currently have 1 month left on my xbox live subscription and i'm wondering if i enter another code does it add on to the current or cancel it?

Okay.

When do the 12 months begin? Is it from purchase date or the date I activate online?

Does it matter if I purchase a month in advance of the date my current subscription ends?

Activing another 12 month Xbox live Card....

Have a stupid question guys. Some stores in Canada is having the 12 month xbox live card on sale for 40 dollars and I was thinking of picking one up. However, my current Xbox live gold subscription is good until April 2014. Here's my question, if I buy
the xbox live gold 12 month card tomorrow and activate it, will it stack above my current subscription (new 12 months wont' start until may 2014) or will it replace my current subscription and my 12 months will start tomorrow (when I enter the code)?

Yes. Your current membership end date will have 12 additional months added on top of whatever you currently have.

Like mentioned yes it is possible, but be aware that, as far as I know, it does have a maximum of 36 months in the future

12 months Live Gold gets converted into 4 months Ultimate Game Pass if you have a current, active Game Pass subscription.

To get the full 12 months of Gold you either need to wait till your UGP sub runs out then enter the code...or you need to cancel your GP sub and then enter the code

if you currently have gamepass ultimate then you already have gold, if you add that 12 month card to your current sub then it will convert that 12 months gold card into 4 months of gamepass ultimate, which will stack on your current sub.
