Bluray has a higher data transfer rate than DVD, so it isn't impossible to get games to run from a bluray disc. We know this can happen because there are several PS3 games that didn't require installation and that was only a 2x
drive.

Unfortunately because bluray runs at a constant speed, unlike DVDs variable, it meant that either sections of the game needed to be duplicated on the disc (thereby wasting the space advantage of bluray) or had massive loading times. So while games can be played
from a bluray disc, a hard drive is simply better suited for the job.

The PS4 also has mandatory installs and requires the disc in the drive to play, so you would encounter the same irritations you have now with your Xbox One.

If you don't like having the disc in place then I would either recommend buying digital only on your console or moving to the PC for gaming, where in the vast majority of cases the disc can be discarded after installation.

As long as the game is a digital download you'll be able to also download it on your Windows 10 PC.

If it was a physical disc for the Xbox One. You wouldn't be able to use the disc to install on the Windows 10 PC.
