IED's weakened?

I have noticed more and more that people have been just walking through IED's lately. They don't have the blast shield on, blast shield I understand. They don't shoot it prior to walking over it. They approach it, it explodes and they are still standing.
I'm just curious if they have been weakened or did the ammo store sell me some duds.

It's just IED's and campers...

When i first threw on sit rep i got two double kills in the first game by shooting IED's through the floor. Try using silencers and penetrating rounds for campers and IED's both.

 

Playing on Easy but Escaping the railyard still really difficult

Try laying some IED's too, like where you know a car will go.

 

People know how to avoid them now. Youtube it.

 

I just cant seem to figure them out myself, sometimes I can run through them with agility, sometimes I cant. Sometimes I can back off the instant I hear one and sometimes I cant.

I dont know if its a lag issue for me or what, but the relationship between hearing them beep and where/when they explode seems totally inconsistent.

The only way I can consistently escape them is with sitrep.

 

Can you prone out on them and avoid them like in MW3?

 

I usually take a step back and then prone,Works most of the time,Gotta be quick though.Just prone does'nt work.

 

I checked some of the youtube vids like cod dukes said and most of them just suggested taking a step back.... something that doesnt work so well for me, I have better luck running through them.





One of them suggested step back and go prone, but last night I was playing dom and decided to slide into the flag. After I committed to it, I saw an ied at the base of the flag. I slid right up against it and it barely damaged me at all, even though I
was pretty much touching it.





That wasnt intentional, but it worked well and I'll definitely be trying that some more.

 

They are def. not getting weaker... I was playing the other night and was using marathon. I couldn't run through any of them. The only way I have been able to avoid them is to just "back off" after hearing the noise of death.

 

I agree with "Tired", they seem very inconsistent. I have seen guys seemingly standing on them and survive. I have done it recently. I have ran into big upstairs room on Warhawk, stopped and started shooting at the guy laying in the floor, not knowing
an IED is right next to me. It explodes and I kill the guy and it seems like the only damage I took was from his bullets and not the IED.

Then there are times when once triggered, I/they can't get away fast enough.

 

mine seem to have been nerfed but the enemies seem strong as ever

they are inconsistant

blame it on lag

 

I try n side step em, their blast cone is limited. more so on uneven ground.

Why I suggest you wall mount then to shoot across a path........

 

I was thinking the "thingy" that holds four or so bouncing betties, not the IEDs. You could prone on top of the multiple betty thingy and avoid them in MW3.

 

IMS ............. I have gone prone and avoided them in ghosts, but the second one will get you for sure.



I dont have much of an issue with them though. I can usually get away from them just b getting out of the los, Step back outside the door, go around a corner or whatever. Once I find one I keep teasing it until it runs empty.



The only time they get me is if I get stuck on something and cant get away....... which isnt uncommon. I've even been on the 3rd or fourth one following the same path and must find a nail sticking out of a doorjam or something that out of nowhere snags
me and wont let me get back out. I kind of feel silly when that happens.



That's something that seems to have changed in the game. In the beginning I talked about how free you could move around without getting stuck on things, But as time goes by I get stuck more and more. Like the scaffold ramp on overwatch. I can run that
same path up that ramp over and over in a game without a problem, then mysteriously something will stop me about half way up it and I'l have to struggle to get loose.

 

Does Danger Close and the IMS and IED explosions get stronger with that perk? I may need to try it out. Maybe even drop some C4 on an IED too (if they arent in the same equiptment slot.)
