IE hijacked

My IE is completely hijacked and broke with no way of getting it back. It just keeps saying its infected and I cannot hit start to close the tab or open a new one. It just keeps popping up this malware crap. I have no control at all and have no way to uninstall
it or no way of reinstalling it, I'm completely stuck. IE on Xbox one is not an app therefore I cannot "manage app" like normal apps. How can this be fixed?

Hijacked then Nuketown. Hijacked is the worst since the spawns can literally flip numerous times in just seconds.

 

Sorry to hear it. Can you please try heading to Settings>Disc & Blu Ray then select Persistent Storage and Clear Cache 3 times then finally hold the power button until the console shuts down. When it's down unplug all cables from the console and let it
sit for 5 minutes.

If this doesn't help then you may have to do a Factory Reset of the console to clear the browser's cache.

If you have your games stored on an external hard drive then you don't need to worry about redownloading them or losing your saves if you have to resort to this method.

 

Hey, so in the future, may want to avoid using any sites that offer "free" streaming video services. This goes for everything. People who make this malicious software love these sites as it's an open ended client to put their malware on.

First try the work around linked below. The idea is to just open another tab, or force it to open another tab, so you can close the original. The X1 is a closed system so you don't have to worry about long term affects.

Thank you very much! The 2nd trick from the link provided worked, it automatically opens your search in another tab, therefore I wasn't on the scam page pop-up BS and then I could finally hit menu and close other tabs. Thanks a ton, greatly appreciate all
