IE App- Not asking for passcode

Through the family settings on my system, the Internet Explorer app should ask for the 4 digit passcode every time anyone tries to access IE.

I have successfully made this happen in that if you try to access IE from the My Apps menu, it will ask for the 4 digit passcode.

However, if anyone attempts to access the browser by doing a search for Games/Music/etc. then the system does not inquire for the 4 digit passcode.

For example, if you go to Search for Games and type "a", then select the option to search with Internet Explorer for "a", then the IE app will come up without any required passcode.

    :)

IE App - Circumventing Parental Controls

Hello, thanks for replying. So some slight misunderstanding here. So rather than using the privacy settings to turn web browsing on or off, I am blocking the IE app from the family settings. I want to force it to ask for the 4 digit passcode to enter IE.
Turning web browsing off wouldn't suffice since it could be turned on and off without the passcode.

If I try to access IE from the My Apps Menu, it will ask for the 4-digit passcode. If I attempt to access IE from a search bar on one of the other menus, then it does not require a passcode. Any suggestions?

Useless: IE "blocked" setting in "Privacy" menu, not "Family"

    Sorry for the misunderstanding.

Internet Explorer can be blocked, but not blocked with a passcode. The result is that a person does not need the passcode to unblock it, which makes "blocking" IE pretty useless.

Your idea about IE being blocked through the "Unrated Content" option is logical. Yet, even with Unrated Content set to "blocked," Internet Explorer is still accessible. This method used to block the YouTube app entirely but does not block the IE app -
from which YouTube can now be accessed...

Does this seem like an oversight?
