Idle screen runs while active

I hear you SectorStar, I agree the problem started with the preview update. The one thing that has worked for me so far is leaving the 360 idle on the active downloads screen until your download finishes. If it still gives you the dreaded "Can't Download"
make sure there isn't a "Unknown game" error in your games list. If there is delete that and retry your download while staying on that active downloads screen. hopefully that will work for you as well.

Hi Bailey! So, I haven't had a chance to test this to confirm or reject it, but I have found several others with the same issue on other forums online, and one suggests this as a possible fix. The reply had some invites, so it MAY work.

First, go to your settings, choose preferences, then idle options. From here, there is a box checked labeled "show me things while idle." Try unchecking that, and see what happens. It's possible the rolling notifications may be on a parallel timer, which
forces the screen dimming to come on even though the console is active.

As a workaround, until this is resolved, you can also change the idle timer on this same screen to as much as 60 minutes, which would at least minimize the interruptions while watching a film or streaming content!

This will fix the current issue, but removes the idle screen. This sounds like a bug as it is not intended to idle while watching a disc based movie (or streaming content either).

Ensure you have the latest version of the bluray app from the store. If that doesn't fix it, the work around M3tal Daz3 suggested will work, but it not a permanent fix as it removes the Idle option from the console.

They can't dim the screen they want you to have your tv running through it imagine watching you're favorite show and 15 minutes in screen dims because technically it's been idle that whole time

It seems you have your console configured to put the screensaver after a while without activity.

In case that your console is an Xbox One :

Go to Settings, select Preferences, and hit Idle options. Now, uncheck “Show me things when idle.” This should get rid of the idle problem.
