    Idle issues


    Hi,

    I have an Xbox one x Scorpio addition. I have an issue when playing DVD or blue ray through the blue ray app, which has developed over the last 48 hrs.

    The Xbox will turn off on its own presumably as it’s software assumes inactivity? I have never seen or heard of this happening as the actual blue ray app is clearly running as a DVD is playing, yet at around the 60 min mark the Xbox just turns off?

    I have owned every type of Xbox and never experienced this on any of these consoles previously.

    Is there a way to fix this issue, either through update or some setting?

    I have already looked at idle settings which indicate whether information is displayed on screen during these periods & setting a time frame to allocate dimming of the screen. Neither of these seem to be the course or have an impact.

    Controller connected but won't work?!?!?!?

    Also having controller problems. Seems to start once the controllers gone idle. After that it's nothing but headset issues, sync issues (even when using USB!) and kinect is unplugged issues.

    Hard restart "fixes" this but as ppl have said that's a ball ache.

    Blu-ray idle xbox

    Go to settings, select preferences, and hit idle options. Now, uncheck “Show me things when idle.” This should get rid of the idle problem.

    Hi

    Can you try removing the Blu Ray player app on the console then carry out a full console restart by holding the power button on the front of the console for 10 seconds and re install the app to see if this helps with the problem you are having. If this does
    not help with the problem you could try increasing the amount of time before automatically shuts down in

    Power mode & startup    .

    Go to settings, select preferences, and hit idle options. Now, uncheck “Show me things when idle.” This should get rid of the idle problem.
    This will fix the current issue, but removes the idle screen. This sounds like a bug as it is not intended to idle while watching a disc based movie (or streaming content either).

    Ensure you have the latest version of the bluray app from the store. If that doesn't fix it, the work around M3tal Daz3 suggested will work, but it not a permanent fix as it removes the Idle option from the console.

    I don't have a Ethernet cable to connect to it. My laptop, Mac, phone and ps3 have no connection issue. Network test is all perfect but it could happen any time 20 mins, 3 hrs, 10hrs idle or not idling

    It seems you have your console configured to put the screensaver after a while without activity.

    In case that your console is an Xbox One :

    Go to Settings, select Preferences, and hit Idle options. Now, uncheck “Show me things when idle.” This should get rid of the idle problem.

    If this doesn't fix the issue, tell us so we can help you further.
