    Ideas for Enforcement

Good afternoon. My name is Andrew and my gamertag is . Ive been playing games for my entire life, and have been a member of this community for 12 years on two separate accounts. I was recently suspended, and while I'm somewhat appalled by it,
Im not here to cry about it. However, the way i was suspended was unsettling. I wont go into details about what happened, but i will say I want to see a change in Microsoft's enforcement as a whole. A positive change at that. I gave a few ideas when I appealed
for my suspension lift but it was erased and copy pasted my first answer for the questionnaire. I'll put those ideas here and see what people think.

My first idea is to crack down on profanity by putting certain emojis in the blacklist when used in a certain way. Everyone knows what someone is talking about when they put the poop emoji or a cat emoji, but if someone says the words, they can get com-banned.
If a person says 'You're a py' they should get the same consequence as saying the full word. Same with symbols, using (@, !, $, etc) to circumvent saying the full word should not be allowed.

My second idea was to adopt a age system much like how roblox has, in terms of profanity. As i said before, ive been apart of this community for 10+ years, and have seen many of my friends be banned as new changes popped up. With the Series X/S releasing
in a month, i want a new system along with my console. I propose an age system, where younger audiences are not allowed to cuss, and if they try, the words are autocorrected to something more child friendly. The same applies with voice chat, but since no one
knows what everyone is going to say, have a voice filter, that parents of younger users can switch on, so if someone curses, it beeps like it would on a Youtube video. As for older users, be a tad more lenient, allowing more adult speech and text at a moderate
level. A 23 year old and curse and cuss with his other 23 year old friends, but not too much that it becomes toxic or volatile.

So if someone curses every other word, They could be reported as one would be now for a single curse word. At some point, some will say, 'What about when a child and adult are in the same game or party?!'. Thats easy, according to each players profile, one
can put their age, much like Facebook. It wouldnt appear on their profile where anyone else could see it, merely there for the enforcement teams' benefit when dealing with cases. In terms of their age, the leniency for profane and adult content varies. A 9
year old cannot cuss on text or voice until they reach a certain age. A 15 year old can cuss a small bit, say 0.6% to an adults 1%. Anything more than that 0.6% would be either beeped or reported. An 18 year old can slur at a moderate amount, but not when
a child is in the party or beyond a certain amount. If an algorithm catches too many reports on once person or detects a circumvention to the rules, the offender in question gets a suspension. This gives parents of younger children less to worry about in terms
of profanity or toxicity, but gives older users the freedom to speak freely. As for different countries they have their different customs and laws, and Xbox can tweak the system how they like, like having a representative office for each supported language.
Some will wonder, how do we stop this system from being abused? That leads to my third and final idea.

A problem that plagues modern Xbox users young and old, the report buttons. But how can these be a problem? Theyre infinite. Back in the old 360 days to Xbox One launch, reports were limited, running on a timer. You could only report one person so many times
at once. Otherwise you'd be forced to wait the 15-30 cooldown timer. While annoying when someone is bothering you, this timer stopped trolls and angered users from spamming a report on every message you sent. While it's okay to believe everyone can report
as much as they want when they feel the need to, this system causes high toxicity in the form of report spam. Going forward, we as a community should have a set number or reports in a day just like we have a set number of home xbox switches in a third of the
year. Im not sure on a set number that would appease everyone, but i say 3 to 5 per day would be fair, 3 if used on different people can help the enforcement team crack down on repeat offenders, and 5 can help the enforcement team find out whose is spam reporting.
After using your reports for the day, you wouldnt be able to send any more until you appealed for more, or waited 24 hours for them to reset. Of course, an appeal should only be used if you are being harassed and enforcement doesnt catch onto the offender.

This three ideas are what I thought of after i got com-banned. If youre here to bring more ideas or simply calm down after being com-banned yourselves, feel free to comment. If you read to the end, or are an Xbox Representative, Ambassador, or Enforcement
Team member, thank you for giving me the time to explain my ideas. I want to see our community blossom. Tell me what you think.

    :)

    Xbox Enforcement idea

I personally think the enforcement guidelines need to be review and updated by Microsoft. I have never been banned for anything but some of the stuff I read on here is crazy.

The system works fine as it is.

We did have something similar years ago where ambassadors reviewed gamertags & if they thought they violated the ToU/CoC then they were reviewed by the enforcement team.Never got out of beta testing.

Getting rewarded just for reporting someone would end up being abused no end.

The enforcement team have a system that works & has worked for years.

sounds reasonable but I think it would be hard to implement. You'd be gambling that what you find offensive is the same as a majority of random strangers on the internet. You could end up tied down by endless appeals against their decisions. It
could work, but I reckon MS would rather have a dedicated bunch of people who
know what the standard is and rigidly enforce that. I think I would too.

    Xbox Enforcement idea

The Enforcement like it is now is doing a great job at correcting the behaviour of the gamers that violate the Code of Conduct.

Just remember that Xbox Live is available in countries all ober the world.

Something might not be offensieve in your country, but it is in my country. So they have to protect all users of Xbox Live no matter where they live.

The problem is different ages might see different words as offensive.
