    I’d like to start an Xbox party chat while being on a LAN network


    I’d like to start an Xbox party chat while being on a LAN network so I can play Minecraft with my girlfriend. Our WiFi at home really isn’t all that great and it lags horribly. I bought a router so we could solve the lagging issue while she’s in my world. Now we can’t talk caused we’re in different parts of the house. Is there any way for us to start a party so we can communicate?

    Can You Turn Online Off?

    It does kick you back to main menu if you start with online mode (meaning if you start the game without being in a party chat). But when you get back to the game WHILE being in a party chat you'll notice you're playing in offline mode.

    I have been having this problem and Party Chat has never worked for me.

    For a start, the xbox app does not have a network tab which would nice to start trouble shooting from! I would like to be able to start from there. I like the app but not party chat is a bit of a deal breaker!

    We understand that there is an issue with being able to add multiple users to a party chat or chat.

    Our suggestion here is to follow our Xbox App Networking Troubleshooter article, as most chat errors or rather not
    being able to connect in chat is caused by network errors.

    Fortnite Voice Chat

    One thing that worked for me was if you start an xbox party and then you join a fortnite party and go to the voice chat tab it should give you an option to switch to game chat. Also with the new season I can hear people party chats while in a xbox party
