    Developers can't release free games to cater to every single player...they will release free games that they think they can make money on such as Fortnite etc or sometimes to showcase their development house etc.

    Just a friendly reminder though that for games that are in the store, prices will depend on the game publisher. This is the same for other gaming platforms as well.
