ICS working with X360, but NOT Xbone

So the entire time that I've had my X360, I've been able to use the internet connectin sharing (ICS) to get online with it. But with the Xbone, it does not. Well, it does, but it doesn't. When I connect my Xbone to my computer, and do everything that the
official ICS help article specifies, it won't let me access almost any of my settings, nor will it show me my friends or let me play games online. But the kicker is...doing connection tests shows that my Xbone IS connected to the internet. I get the error
code 0x80BD0004 whenever I try to access my Preferences submenu in the Settings menu. And then perhaps 2 minutes later, all the sudden my Preferences screen comes up. The privacy and online safety submenu are restricted to me as well. From what I've
gathered, it seems that for some reason the Xbone thinks that I'm a child trying to connect to his daddy's profile. I then attempted deleting my profile to re-add it, only for it to give me error code 0x80a40010 when I tried to re-add my profile. Restarting
the console resulted in it sitting at a black screen after the Xbox One green splash screen for 5 minutes, and then when I tried re-adding it again it gave me the same error code. I have to use either wifi or direct router connection in order to re-add my
    profile.

This whole thing is just ridiculous! I am able to use wifi to connect to the internet with my Xbone, but its not as good as wired, and I'd prefer being
able to use wired. I'm able to connect to my friend's router at his house. I'm able to use the direct connection from the router as well to get online with the Xbone, but of course this means my PC can't use the internet. I'd prefer a solution that allows
me to use both, as I've always been able to with my X360 and PS4. Now I don't understand how following the instructions to the letter on the ICS page isn't working, but it isn't. Why would it be unable to share connection with my PC, when my X360 has been
able to with little problem all these years?

    :)

Bridging connection through windows 10 laptop

I've followed the sticky, and according to the computer everything is fine. But the Xbox shows no internet. As far as I've read with bridging turned on I shouldn't be able to access the internet. But, it seems to work just fine.

Using ICS does the same thing. Anybody know how to get it working? I'm not quite sure what to do past this point.

I'm ok with either a bridge or ICS but neither seems to work.

Hi there! Just wanted to take a minute to drop by and talk about your network for a bit. In the hierarchy of network connectivity, ICS is not normally on the top of the list. Oh you'll be able to get online just fine but let's talk about the quality of your
connection. Adding any point of failure (hub, switch, router, repeater, ICS/bridged PC, etc) is going to open you up to a potential plethora of issues. Everything from lag in games, buffering while streaming, or just flat-out not being able to connect at all.
This is especially so when you have a device (your computer) acting as like a router when it was not designed to do so.

Now you say that your 360 was able to connect via ICS with no issues. I don't doubt that. Your Xbox One just has a lot more data that it's trying to send/receive than your 360 ever did, and it's important that there's nothing that could potentially get in
the way of that data. Think about it like this: While your 360 is a garden hose, your Xbox One is a fire hose.

Back to your network for a sec. You say that you do have a wireless connection in the house. When you connect your Xbox One to that do you notice any performance issue? I only ask this because your Xbox One console was designed specifically with home wireless
networks in mind (because the majority of people are using some sort of wireless network in their home) and as such you will only see a performance degradation with a wireless connection over wired when there is some form of wireless interference involved.
At that point I would be more than happy to assist you in narrowing down where that interference is coming from, and help you alleviate it.

Finally if having a wired connection is really your thing then I suggest bypassing the ICS connection altogether and wiring the console directly to the router/gateway. If you don't have a spare Ethernet port in your network device you would be better served
by getting yourself a $20 hub to add additional ports to your network. You will end up with far fewer issues than ICS would ever give you.

I'll keep an eye on this thread if you would like to continue this discussion later.

    Thank you.

big hair was the norm, you could choose a hub. ICS working with X360, but NOT Xbone :)

I'm not sure if you wanna go back to the world of half duplex, where one collision domain was the standard.

Why cant i buy a xbox 360 game with a MS gift card?!!

Because you only can buy a x360 game with a MS Card through an x360, on xbox one or in website store you will need to buy it with a credit card. Is this way how x360 market works.

    Transfering Data to New Console

Transfer Cable just needs a working X360 External HDD to attach on and you connect the USB It has to the new X360 S. Then it shall transfer data by command. It doesn't need another working X360. By the way make sure it's Microsoft Branded or you gonna be
    walking into problems.

    Backward Compatibility games

Finally, I fixed this problem. I don't have X360, X360 account and I have old Live account. So I install compatibility game and create X360 account and its works.

    Problem solved.

Xbox market place videos Ive purchased

if the media is backed to your PC and is not an X360 game.. you should be able to stream it to the XB1... just the games and anything made specifically for the X360 will most likely not work on the XB1
