following the "Troubleshooting security code issues" link solved my problem. Specifically when I registered my daughters email following https://account.microsoft.com/security (the link given in trouble shooting) I finally received a security code.

thanks for your answer. The problem is, before I could add the child account to my family, I would first have to *create* the account. I try to do so by registering my daughters email address
[Mod Removed – Personal Information], but then I never receive a code which should be sent to
[Mod Removed – Personal Information]. I checked the Spam folder. I repeated the procedure several times - no success. I don't receive a code to create the account.
