Ice-like movement when flying in minecraft java 1.19

Sorry if this is a stupid question but I just started playing java edition when it was available to bedrock users. When flying, the movement is ice-like in that I don't stop immediately and it is really bugging me. Does anybody know why this is happening and how to change it? All other movement is fine.

I believe the way that flying mechanics work in Minecraft's Vanilla system, flying friction value equal to ice. If there is a way to change it, I do not believe it is in any game settings.

Can you explain in detail what would happen when I delete "Minecraft versions", "Accounts and Cache" and "Microsoft Store local cache"

And can you explain what "Minecraft versions" are? like are they 1.18? 1.19? or is it Minecraft: Java Edition, Minecraft: Bedrock

Do the grapnel boost flying thing from an ice floe (using the ice grenade) on the water below. When you boost through it you shatter the paneling.

There’s a few threads reporting this Minecraft update error, so this unfortunately seems to be affecting a lot of players and any troubleshooting probably won’t make any difference. Reinstalling the game should’ve correctly installed and applied the update as well, so you should contact support directly to properly address this if the issue persists.
