I would like to limit the amount of time that my son can stream movies ands TV through his xbox

my son just bought a new monitor and he now has his xbox in his room instead of in the family room. we have strict limits on the length of time that he can play games, but I cannot figure out how to place similar limits on streaming of movies and TV,
as well as internet browsing. any guidance would. be appreciated.

as above set you childs screen timeits very easy to do if you have the family settings log on by windows/phone to the xbox website and select screen time

Also, the xbox can only read a limited amount of file formats video wise.

I would recommend getting a program called Tversity. You can rip the movies to your pc and then use the program to stream them through to the xbox.

I have been experiencing this same problem since June 12. The problem however, is not limited to streaming on my xbox. I cannot view TV/movies on my xbox, laptop, PC or phone. The problem is limited to the Microsoft Movies and TV app, as I have
no problem watching Netflix, Hulu or Amazon content. I have now lost many HOURS on the phone with support, been through all the troubleshooting (more than once) and the problem continues. When can users expect a fix for this problem??

Thank you for answering. I did correct my typed link and it worked. At this time my goal is stream movies, picture on my PC, etc from my PC to my Xbox and watch on my TV; which is sharing I think. Like I said, my experience is limited with this but if
I have step by step directions I can follow.
