Dear fellow audiophiles. When is Microsoft going to give full support for DTS Master Audio and Dolby True HD?? Not having these makes a joke of having a Blu Ray player, as you're not able to get the full experience! I know it, it was rumoured, that there
was a Licencing issue with Dolby, but that apparently has been resolved. If I could ask for Microsoft to fix one thing, it would be this! Can anyone comment?

    :)

    headset problem

well if you had something that hijacks the audio between the xbone and tv like a pvr or something (mind you it has to support audio out) then you could hook it up to that and just mute the tv whenever you played games. other then that, no not really. I know that we're getting the adaptors from microsoft for getting mic to work with the xbone in march but I dunno if that will affect the game sounds in anyway.

    Stream Super HD and 3D

Super HD is not just 1080p. There are two levels of 1080p HD and Super HD. You can still get 1080p with a slower connection and it will show HD. You can see this on PS3. Can't say for sure on Xbone as I dont own one yet.

That being said. It does sound like the Xbone supports it as the Netflix FAQ states:

Blu-Ray Players, Smart TV's, Home Theaters, and Streaming Players with existing Netflix 1080p support*

*Note: Although some Super HD eligible devices do not currently display the Super HD logo, we continue to provide Super HD video quality for these devices.

I thought bitstreaming was enabled in an update several months ago?

The issue is that when you select bitstreaming, the Xbox One will decode the HD Audio, mixes in its own audio, and then outputs it in either legacy Dolby Digital or DTS. Very old school.

If you select PCM output, the system decodes the HD Audio, mixes in its own audio, and then outputs it in PCM. I think most of us "audiophiles" would like the system to simply pass/offload the audio to our receivers so it can do the decoding. Something my
old PS3 has done for years now.

    I would like this fixed.

Hmm, I didn't know that was the case. I'm glad that I've held off purchasing one - seems like they still have quite a few features to finish up/iron out. I would also call myself an audiophile and therefore definitely would not want my audio to be remixed
from lossless to a lossy format. I guess the PCM option isn't all that bad, but it seems like an unnecessary step of conversion.

  7. Thanks for your replies, hopefully Microsoft will take note of what Playstation have accomplished years ago and apply it to their LATEST offering, that costs the best part of £300 more!

fingers crossed I Would Like to get full HD Audio Support on the XBOne ;)

I would like to see this fixed as well. I want to see DTS HD and True HD lit up on my receiver. I believe that they are for next generation consoles and the XBOX ONE is supposed to be a next gen console.

  9. This is not only about mixing. It is not only about lossless to lossy, it is also lossy to more lossy. For example if you think thant LPCM 7.1 (Uncompressed) is what you need then look at kHz number on your receiver. You will always receive 48Khz. So suppose
you have high quality Nirvana disk Nevermind 1991. It contains 96Khz tracks. Same with Nine Inch Nails DVD audio. You will not get same bits. So X1 alters sound and looses quality. Result - I do not use it for Bluray disks.

One more note: DTS HD is not the same as DTS HD MA:

Is the downsampling from 96 kHz to 48 kHz in the Xbox One so bad that it's actually audible? I Would Like to get full HD Audio Support on the XBOne

I want my Xbox One to have 3D movie support. I don't see why it doesn't do it yet, I was under the impression that all Blu Ray players are all 3D ready and all MS would have to do is send in a patch. Please MS 3D support for Xbox One!
