I would like a notification when my friends come online

On Xbox 360 whenever a friend would come online a little notification would pop up and I could join games or whatever.

On the Xbone my friends have to text me when they are online or I have to go through my friend list. Its time consuming to say the least.

Ive made some new friends playing COD and I never know if they are online unless I go through my whole friends list.

Is there a setting that Im missing to alert me when friends are on?

If there isn't I think this is something that should be fixed.

No Friend Notifications on xbox LIVE

Hey, me and my friends are experincing a bug where we are not being notified when a friend comes online. We are still getting notifications for messages and we allow all notifications at all times. However, we are not getting a pop-up notification when a
friend come online.

Anyone else experiencing this ?

No thanks, if they enable the "X friend has come online" notification ill end up just turning off all notifications like I did on the 360, it was bad enough with 100 friends; with the higher limit it would just be constant popping of notifications, maybe there is a case for some granularity and being able to select notifications for specific friends but im pretty cool with how it is now.

 

No you are not missing any settings, this feature isnt supported on the Xbox One currently.

Any friends that are online though will appear at the front of your friends list, usually with a little green dot next to their names to show they are online, so need to scroll your entire list to find them.

Hopefully we see friend notifications added in a future update

 

Like Reidzer said, it isn't currently supported but hopefully will be soon. I would rather an option to disable those if you didn't want to see them, than to have them disabled already. However as far as I'm aware, your online friends show up at the beginning
of the list, not mixed in with offline friends if you're viewing your friends list. If you're looking at followers the list is based on when they were added to your list, instead of who is online and who isn't, so you may see people who are online mixed in
with those who are offline but if you're looking at your friends list, the people who are online should be listed at the beginning. It isn't the best way to do it, so hopefully we see the addition of that notification.
