I was told to request to have a word allowed for a gamertag here

I keep getting a "Not allowed" using the word Gipsy, I use it on every other platform and Support said to ask engineers to look into removing this so as to be used.

So I am posting here. Thanks!

Unfortunately they gave you incorrect information. This is a community based forum so we are just fellow gamers and do not work for Microsoft so we can't modify the gamertag system.

Creating duplicate threads is against forum rules.

You have also been told the probable reason why your gamertag was banned & it is nothing to do with racial discrimination.

The word filter can not catch everything so sometimes a word that is not allowed in a gamertag will slip through but once it is reported it is then issued a forced name change.

No one here,including a "rep" works for the enforcement team.

If the gamertag reports as not allowed it is only because it is blocked on the XBL side for a reason.

This is likely due to illegal names (profanity etc), prior abuse with a banned account (spam, cheating), hacked account (closed for security), or that it is taken. I'm afraid there is no way around this

Here in this answer forum, there are only gamers like you and me that like to help others voluntarily.

We have no insight into the inner workings of the Gamertag word filter, so we don't know why something is not allowed.

So if the system tells you, that the gamertag isn't allowed, you'll have to find a different one.

I understand you need help on changing your gamertag.

Just a heads up that modern gamertags with the new update already has some words being filtered due to a large number or languages being used on the Xbox community. If the gamertag you are trying to choose is not allowed, this usually means that some of the words on that gamertag are not allowed with the system.

I suggest using a different gamertag instead that the system will allow.
