I was gifted a game for the wrong region

I am afraid that you can't do much. Contact support. Maybe they can do something. You can do it here or:

When you go to Contact Us, follow these steps to request a chat
with support:



· Step 1 ----select Xbox One

· Step 2 ----select see other options then payment and billing

· Step 3-----select show contact options

Step 4 ----select chat with support

There is currently a Xbox Live service alert going on that specifically addresses emails with gift codes not showing the code.

If your brother did everything right, you should get an updated email with the code after the issue is fixed. Keep a look out on

https://support.xbox.com/xbox-live-status

If that doesn't resolve the issue, your brother has to
contact the official Xbox support to get a refund on that gift.

After he got the refund, he needs to buy you the game from the correct region.

Your brother needs to make sure that the store page is from Australia (you can check that in the lower left corner of the website), or if he's buying it from the console, the console has to be set to the correct country and language (i.e. English and Australia).

You cant.

Gifting is locked to region.

Both users need to be in the same region to gift games. You cannot gift to any one in another region

Can they try redeeming the code on there account here https://redeem.microsoft.com/enter

If that fails what is the error they are getting, if its for the wrong region, Gifting is not supported cross region, and you will need to process a refund for this.
