What are you guys talking about? Changing the Javelin like that first of all is unrealistic. It is a lock on weapon. The idea is if you lock on directly with line of sight with the Javelin it will lock and track. If you use some sort of Laser Painter (SOFLAM,
CITV, or the unlock for the Scout Chopper), which no, the Engineer should not have a SOFLAM, the SOFLAM + Javelin duo is extremely powerful and hence should require co-operation to use successfully, just like other aspects such as winning, and the Attack Chopper.
Anyway, as I was saying, if you use some sort of Laser Painting device, the Engineer does NOT need line of sight to lock onto the vehicle, it locks onto what the Laser Painter is tracking and does what is called a top attack which deals more damage. It means
tanks nearly instantly blow up, choppers and jets are vaporized, and countermeasures such as ECM, Flares, and IR Smoke are rendered useless. Why is it people feel there is an imbalance with these!? Is it so hard to ask for two people to work in cooperation
for such a task!? Two people. A recon with SOFLAM, or a scout chopper pilot with Laser Painter, or a tank with CITV, then an Engineer with a Javelin. I already see SOFLAMs sitting out when I fly every match as they show up on Air Radar. And plenty of times
in a tank I've seen guys with Javelins locking onto me. Just start working together. It isn't hard to play with one more friend. And if you have no friends that play, I don't want to hear any pouting that you have to play solo because you have no friends or
something, because there are a lot of other people on the forum here complaining of the same thing, so send each other friend requests and play together!!!

They did, and those things shred the heck out of Jets and Choppers. They are on Kharg and Firestorm.
