I was away from my xbox console since January 2018 due to work and I returned to gaming today just to find my Microsoft account was banned. Bare in mind none of my family have access to my Xbox account.

Can I get a possible reason why? I've lost years of game progress and I'm very confused and upset about this.

The suspension categorised as Solicitation/Phishing has a permanent ban on the account and was added the date of May 5 2018.

EDIT: I have spoken to Xbox Customer Support and I have been redirected to the "Account Reinstatement" page here on Microsoft.com. I have filled out the form and are now awaiting a response.

I would like to post an update that I have spoken to Xbox customer support and they have directed me to their Account Reinstatement page here on Microsoft.com. I have filled out the form so I'm hoping for the best but preparing for the worst.

Yes it says something along the lines of attempting to get money from other xbox live users for something they call "modded accounts"?

I've been away from the account for the last year and 3 quarters. It also says "upheld" next to case review. I didn't even know anything about this until now.

It's just on xbox or overall Microsoft? pishing means that your account was impersonating an institution or another person usually this happens
by sending emails pretendng to be a bank instiution askin for bank accounts information to users.

Thanks for reaching out to the Forums for clarity on what could have happened. I'm sorry that you have had this enforcement action placed on your account.Based on the scenario that you put forth, it seems to be that your account was signed in somewhere
and was banned while you were not using it.

If you had not interacted with the account in that time, I would highly recommend contacting
customer support to make sure that the rest of the account is secure and changing the account password. They should be able to also identify what kind of ban your account is
affected by.

Unfortunately, as previously posted, enforcement would be the only entity that could affect the ban. If there was already a case review where the decision was upheld though, the only recourse to get online after this permanent ban would be through a new
account.

To prevent issues like this, Microsoft encourages customers to utilize our secondary security measures such as creating a passkey or enabling two-step verification on an account.
