I was 6 hours into a Goliath race when it forced an update and I lost my progress

• Were you able to successfully install the updates for the game?
• Are you playing the game online when this issue occurred?
• Are you using an Xbox One console or a Windows 10 computer?

well... first i am on windows 10, and yes, i cant go for the tab on auction house, i have recently unlocked goliath race so i think that is a reference point for the game progress.

Have the same issue.

Instant on and auto update are both turned on.

Most of the time it does update overnight, but i have had a few occasions where i have to update a game/app whilst i am using it.

For example i was in the middle of a single player race in Forza 5 when the screen went blank and i was forced to update, losing my progress.

According to the Forza website the patch had been released 2 days prior to me getting the forced update.

Why didn't the x1 download the patch overnight?

The most recent example was Dead rising 3.

Right in the middle of a boss battle and..bam! straight into a update required screen, all progress lost.

Why didn't the x1 wait until i had turned off the console before updating the game?

All games are digital downloads.

Keep an eye on reddit, sometimes the updates don't always come through automatically. I do a manual check when I turn my Xbox on. This helps eliminate the forced updates, which happen 6-8 hours after the OS update release.

oh.. i lost 5 or 6 years of progress i was only 7 or 6 when i first got it and now i lost everything. EVERYTHING. why did i say all those man
