    I want to talk to my Xbox One X without a headset


    How do I talk to my Xbox One X WITHOUT using a headset? I've been talking to one Xbox or another via Kinect since 2011, but can't do it anymore with the latest and greatest Xbox One X because Microsoft unceremoniously cancelled Kinect. I want to continue
    to use the Cortana commands or talk to others in a game without resorting to a headset; which are awkward and uncomfortable.

    How can I regain this functionality in the Xbox One X? Is there a far-field USB microphone I can use? Seems like Microsoft have taken a step backwards, especially since you want Cortana to compete as a smart assistant for home.

    How to connect Xbox One to a sound system

    optical out to my current turtle beach headset, then have voice playing through the speakers and the actual Xbox One mic round my neck so I can talk without having to shell out for an uber headset again lol

    You'll need a USB mic that is compatible with the Xbox.

    Like a stand mic.

    USB mics need to be certified and as such turtle beach have the only one that is compatible.

    With USB camera support now available for off the shelf products, we could assume that mics will go the same way but as yet nothing has come through Insider Preview.

    You can vote for the ideas posted at uservoice about USB mic support.

    Is there a way to send In-game (NOT XBOX PARTY) voice communication to a Capture Card and to the Xbox Wireless Headset?

    "should technically" is the key part there. With my setup, I have a Xbox Series X connected via HDMI to a Capture Card and the Capture Card to the TV. In-Game Party voice comms are sent to the Capture Card when my headset is disconnected from the Xbox Controller, but when I reconnect the headset to the controller, then voice comms are no longer sent to the Capture Card. With or Without the Party setting to speakers and headset turned on. Are you using a headset in your setup? And, do you have the HDMI Headset box checked?

    Unfortunately the Venom Headset XT is not compatible with the xbox one without an official xbox stereo headset adapter.

    You can get a headset adapter at your nearest game store or right at this link
