    I want to reverse my gamertag change


    Recently, I changed my Xbox gamertag to something I don’t like and I don’t want to spend $13AUD to change it back. I also can’t change it back because the name I was originally using is over the word limit. Im wondering it is possible to reverse the change. Can somebody please help?

    If your old tag was over the 12 character limit then you won't be able to have it back.

    The only way it may be possible would be to do the change on a xbox 360 console unless they've changed that now.

    Either way,you would still have to pay for the name change.

    That's what xbox live says, but I am signed up for an xbox live account (I am typing this). I know FOR SURE the reason that it would not download my profile was because they reversed my gamertag change, and I want to know why.

    Hi, I hope you're doing great out there. I am an Independent advisor and I am here to help you in regard to your concern.

    As per Xbox support: "If this is your first time changing your Gamertag, you can change it one time for free. This is regardless of whether we created it for you automatically when you first signed up for Xbox (meaning you didn’t choose it yourself) or if you created your own Gamertag at signup.

    Note After changing your Gamertag once, all future Gamertag changes require a fee (cost varies by region and currency)."

    I'm sorry but there is no other way around it. You may need to check the Xbox community standard when it comes to Gamertag which can be found on the same link.

    To clarify, are you referring to your free Gamertag change? If you are, I'm sorry to say Gamertag changes can't be reversed. My apologies.
