I want to play Digitally purchased games on another profile, how can I ?

Hi,

I have two XB's

I have created another account so my GF can play in another room simultaniously

I have recently purchased 2 games, digitally, via the (official) XB store, but did so , with my main account

I would like my GF to use the other account to play these games, but then an error appears asking if the game was purchased and if so, please insert the disc

How can this be fixed ?

Hi Marley,

Thanks for reaching out to us in the forums for this issue.

If you set up the main profile (yours), that has the active Xbox Live Gold subscription or the games in this case, as the home console then you would be able to share.
You would just need to install the games you want from the main profile then the other accounts would be able to access the game that is installed. Your profile doesn't need to be signed in after the setting is
designated.

If you login to your GF console and set it as home console this should resolve your problem

You need to buy the game digitally on her account or gift her the game. You can't be signed in simultaneously on the same account unless you're on PC. I'm surprised the store even let you buy the game again it usually shows as owned.

I think I bought it on my account profile

How do I gift her the game , without paying again for it ? I don't I'll ever play it myself anyway

I have a very similar setup in my house. You need to utilize the game share feature, but you have to setup correctly.

1. On the GF's console make sure you have your Account on there.

2. Log into your account on the GF's console and make it your Home console. How to setup Home Console

3. Download the games you have purchased digitally that she wants to play (has to be digital this doesn't work with Disks)

4. You can log out of the Xbox, just keep your Profile on this console and your GF can log in.

At this point you would be able to log into your Console while she is logged into hers. As long as you have Live Gold you will be able to play online games together as well.

You may need to add her to the family account to take full advantage of Gold. Steps to add Members to family account
