    GTA5 online requires an Xbox Live Gold membership, so you need it for multiplayer.

    see if they can get you the email. 1-800-4my-xbox if you're in the US/Canada.

    If it is an older account of yours, you would have to change the gamertag to something else in order to free it up for use on your current account. It's not possible to totally deleted an Xbox account. Nothing can be transferred between accounts.
