I want to download Fortnite

My friends are wanting me to play fortnite with them but every time I try to download it, it says there’s a problem with me downloading or updating and for my Xbox one

So an xbox title that is free to download yet utilizes Live services should be exempt from a fee? I don't own an xbox JUST to play fortnite...I just happen to play fortnite on it. And I have an active subscription because I play many games on it and I
enjoy the stability and security of it's network (which is not maintained by unpaid individuals) If you want to play fortnite completely for free you can play on the other platforms.

I just want to let you know that you can cancel the subscription and get a refund if you qualify and the subscription was purchased using the Microsoft store

After that you're going to be redirected to the subscription details, and once there click on the cancel button.
If you qualify for a refund you're going to see that message.
If you're not able to see the cancel option disable the recurring billing option to avoid the renewal
