I want to delete my xbox account and gamertag while keeping my microsft account

Hi, I want to delete all the xbox part of my account or at least "Reset it". A while ago we could just switch the gamertag to an other account but for whatever is the f***ing reason we can't now.

I contacted the support but the guys doesn't understand.

How can i do that ? Is it possible ?

And if not, can i delete an alias on my microsoft account and use it for a new one as a primary ?

How do I delete only my XBOX account whilst keeping my Hotmail and Skype accounts intact?

I no longer have an XBOX, and I do not want my account associated with an XBOX gamertag anymore. So how do I do it?

I have only found ways to delete my entire Microsoft Account. Nothing so far explains how to delete only my XBOX account associated with my Microsoft account. I hope there's a way to do it, otherwise it's just silly.

oh. And this Gamertag is the gamertag that Microsft automatically generated when I started the support chat, without my knowledge or consent, and I was told by support that if they try to delete it, it will also delete my 7 year old Xbox
account and gamertag.

While you can't reset an account, you can move your gamertag to a new email/login. To change your email/login for your current account, follow the steps

here.

Once you have the account moved over to a new email, you can close that account by following the steps

here. It will be completely closed after 60 days.
