I want my games to run off the disc not the digital copy

So I have multiple games where I own the digital copy and the physical copy, the problem is that I do not want my games to run off the digital copy I want them to run off the disc. Is there a way to make them run off the physical copy and not the digital
download.

It's not a "DLC code", just a digital copy of the game.

Yes, one can use the disc to install a game, then activate a digital copy. The digital copy will not need to re-download, it'll automatically use the disc install.

Well I'm not sure what they are thinking, but I agree it isn't smart. They should offer the same games and deals everywhere.

You could probably pick up the Deluxe copy on Disc and cheaper if you want that, not digital though.

I know I picked the Deluxe copy up in July for when it was on offer for £14.37

I tried that and it still runs off the digital copy. I also tried hiding the digital copy off my list.

 

That's because your games do not run off your disc.

Not even the ones you only own on disc.

You use the disc to install the game digitally to the Hard Drive of your XBox ONE.

Then because it's a disc copy that acts as your Digital Rights Management and allows you to play the game that is installed on your Hard Drive..

When you own the game digitally only this DRM allows access without the disc.

 

^ Az is correct, the only time the disc is active is when its installing, after that it plays from the HDD no option to play from disc.

 

I don't even know why you would want this to happen anyway.

Possibly because the XBox ONE's default 500MB Hard Drive only has 316MB available for game storage.

External HD is the solution. Especially when you start working in TB.

 

It doesn't install both versions so why does it matter? It's not like if you buy TMCC on disc and digital it automatically installs 130 GB , so why does it matter? Plus less wear and tear on the disc player.

 

^OP already has the digital installed and wanted to play from disc so doesn't seem to be storage...

 

Lol 500'MB? I believe you mean GB. Indie games are even over 500mb anymore

is 288 Mbit/s or 36 MB/s (also called 8× speed).". That and I believe the X Box drive would probably smoke after a marathon gaming session. I imagine it would be pretty noisy too.

Well in the case of sunset overdrive I got the games with gold version and liked it so I bought the retail version and just wanted it to run off the disc version
