I want my gamertag back

Hi,

I don't have an Xbox anymore, so my windows live ID has expired from non-use.

I want to reclaim my gamertag (dlorey), so I can use it on my PC, but I can't find any way to get this back??

Creating a new WLID just creates a new gamertag, and I can't rename my current gamertag to match the old account, as it's still "in use".

Ideas? (I'm in the UK).

It is always best to start your own thread rather than tie onto another.

forums.xbox.com/.../41.aspx. No superiors will contact you as Enforcement never reads this forum. If your Gamertag broke the COC then you are stuck with the new forced gamertag unless you pay the 9.99

Unfortunately you will unable to get your old gt back. Your gamertag was forced change by Microsoft because it violated the Coc and ToU due to it being offensive. You will have to pay to change it for future references there is no way around it.

I don't even know you can even THINK that that old tag was allowed here in the first place

I can see how the original gamertag could be reported as inappropriate and breaking the Xbox Live Code of Conduct. And, according the terms and conditions of using Xbox Live, Microsoft reserves the right to change any gamertag that violates the CoC without
compensation to the account.
