I want manual updating for games/console

I want manual updating for games and console updates. also maybe an app or something to tell you all the updates that have been installed and incoming updates like patches this would be a great add on for the xbox one I hope this will be added.

Smartglass App Should Include Game Manuals

I think a really good addition to the Smartglass apps would be to have game manuals for each game. At the moment, you have to go to help in-game to read manuals. Would be nice to read them while away form the Xbox One, especially while a game is downloading,
updating etc. Anyone else agree?,

 

It's likely a for a Security Reason why you can't just choose when you want to do your updates. Imagine if people on Xbox 1 didn't have the most up to date OS on Xbox 1. Imagine playing with people online on Xbox Live who didn't have up to date gaming content.
You can go to your console settings and put your Xbox 1 on Instant On mode where it downloads updates in the background, usually those are for people who like to leave their consoles on 24/7 and their parents probably didn't teach them you should turn off
your electrical stuff at the wall when your finished with it. You can put the console on standby mode. Yes it will still consume power, but at more minimal levels than when you're actually gaming or watching videos on it. Otherwise you can go to this site

Just turn automatic updates off. When you turn on your console it'll tell you that you have an update and you can skip it and download later or whenever you want. When there is an update that you didn't install there will be a "1" next to your "options"
icon on your dashboard letting you know there is an update that can be installed.

I've left them there for at least a week and played everyday before I downloaded it.

 

I forgot to mention, when I left the updates uninstalled I only played singleplayer games. I'm not sure if you would be forced to update if you tried to play multiplayer.

 

Pretty sure it would impact on playing multiplayer as a lot of the game updates are to do with dlc & wotnot.
