I want an Xbox One but...

I have both generations going concurrently and have been happily switching between the two, as I still have quite a few 360 titles I want to play.

However, both are being wasted, lately, as my desire to play games has waned dramatically in the past few months (as it has done, throughout the 30-plus years I've been gaming). There's no telling how long this phase will last, before I get back into it.

Given the price drops and changes that seem to be happening quite rapidly (adding my current disinterest), I think I would have been better off waiting 12 months, before jumping on the bandwagon. But I'm me and there's no way I can resist new and shiny things.

I think your original post is plenty enough reason to wait a while longer and make the most of your 360, before getting the XB1. Even after that, you still don't have to discard, or neglect your 360 and its library.

I traded my 360 and put the money towards my X1.... It was a really bad choice, I had a Day One X1 and suffered from the games drought while brilliant titles were being launched on last gen consoles...

Having said that, we are starting to get a great line up of titles, and im excited!

The best most logical move is to wait. XB1 is very cool, but with the number of games there are on the 360 (1000s) compared to the XB1 (50ish?).....id say let the xb1 library bulk up a little more

I want an Xbox One but...

I am using both consoles back an forth so I doubt I will abandon my xbox 360's anytime soon as long as they have the game support which they should. I was only playing the 360 the last few months due to the "winter drought" of new games that usually happens
anyway but alot worse with new consoles. I was going to buy a PS4 recently.....

But I just couldn't do it...that and I want a "Man-sized" controller to hold when I play my games. the sole reason I left PS2 for the original Xbox...and Sony hasn't fixed this ergonomic issue yet.

Dwoop33 I am man sized and like the Dual Shock better. The X1 controller is not bigger then the PS4 controller.

The last time there was a man sized controller was with the original Xbox and the Duke that was a beast but after Microsoft replaced it with the controller S that claim was gone.

I'm opposite of bstn IMO the ds4 isn't even in the same league as x1 controller but is better than ds3. The ds4 is fine for single player games and the touch pad is handy but x1 controller is so awesome for fps.

@op if you can afford keep the 360 and get a one. Its well worth jt IMO. I kept my 360 but haven't touched it since launch. Its now in my sons Room and he uses my gt on the 360. Since they got rid of family gold yeah still annoyed by that.

I think the DS4 is a big improvement over the last controller. For me though it's still no where near as good/comfortable to use as the XB1 controller. This is different for everyone though depending on size of hands .. .. ..

My main issue with it is the sticks ( right opposite to each other ) especially find these a little awkward when playing racing titles or FPS, it just doesn't feel right, again though this will be different for everyone.

I have preferred certain controllers over others, but not enough to decide whether or not I buy a console, there's usually a third party offering that does the trick, like PS style controllers for the Xbox and vice versa.

The Atari Jaguar had a man sized controller I want an Xbox One but... ;) One of many consoles in the loft graveyard.. I think the DS4 is a great controller but yeah the X1 has now become my preference even over the 360 one. I like the staggered stick layout too.

I would wait too OP. I knew I didn't need the X1, I just have to have something when it launches. I too have a huge backlog of 360 games that are ever increasing with the Games For Gold. I don't really have time to spread over multiple consoles. However
I did set the 360 up on my PC monitor instead of main TV so I can "escape" to it when she is watching rubbish on the TV.

There is no disadvantage to waiting if you are patient. It will be cheaper, the games will be cheaper, problems ironed out, more choice of games... The 360 has great graphics that really do not need to be improved on, it doesn't make the games any better.
From now on the difference in graphics isn't going to be massive nor change the experience much. In a few years development for the 360 will slow down a bit.

At the moment I think the 360 and a Gold account is a great investment, just play the Games For Gold.

  11. Atari jaguar, remember playing one of them in rumbelows in South Wales, was a while ago lol that pad had to be huge due to the sheer amount of buttons.

Why rush? Stick with your Xbox 360. Play all your 360 games and get a Xbox One later on down the road. By then there will be a larger variety of new games to play.

Yeah it had overlays that came with games to show you what the buttons did. It still fit like a pad at the top in your hands but not the best in the world. It helped to bridge the gap between PC games, good in idea but poor in execution.

At the time it had the power without the support. AVP looked stunning at the time though, most of the games were such a joke. I remember playing Double Dragon on it, I was a 2d fighter fan, that game was shockingly bad. I bought it mainly for Syndicate as
I couldn't afford a PC at the time, it suffered major slowdown though when anything happened.

AvP is still one of my favorite games to date. I remember calling Ubi soft on the phone all the time asking when Rayman was coming out. Back then they used to answer. lol.

Fight for Life was horrendous as was that Bruce Lee game. I remember Highlander for the CD add-on but that was bad too.
