I want a gamertag but no one is using it

I was searching through gamertags and Micro nor Mr Micro is taken,but when i try to change it they said the usernames have been taken. I try to add the people or invite them private chat to see if their is an account of the name's but their is no one by
those name's please help i really wanna change my name.

Hello everyone,

I have two accounts.

On my old account, I changed my gamertag to something else to free up that gamertag.

On my new account, I tried to change it to my old account's gamertag, but it states it is in use.

So, I tried to send a friend request to that individual, but it states "This gamertag does not exist".

I tried chatting support, but they could not provide a good answer.

Any ideas?

My gamertag was not that long. No one is using it. I wish that were the case! That would make sense of it all.

Anyone else have any idea?

 

Gamertags are used for other Microsoft services besides xbox live. So if the username is taken there is nothing anyone can do for you.

 

Also the system doesn't see things like spaces as making a gamertag unique. So the system sees Mr Micro as the same thing as MrMicro which is in use.

Note gamer-tags are also tied to services like Zune or games for windows live. If a gt doesn't exist on Xbox, it might be in use on one of those services. If you try sending the gamer-tag you want a friend request and it says it’s
not a valid gamer-tag that just means it isn't used on Xbox live, but it could be used for Zune or gfwl. I thought this Information would help you understand Relic,

One thing to remember is that spaces and capitalization don’t make your Gamer-Tag unique. For example, “PR1NCEDARKNESS”, “PR1nceDARKNESS”, and “” They Are All The Same Gamer-Tags.
