    I like having the soundbar on so others in the room can hear when I am playing, but I dont want them hearing idiots on Live using profanity. I used to only hear players in my turtle beach headset, but I recently got a new soundbar, and now all game sounds
    (including player chat ) is in the soundbar (headset still works great).

    My hookup looks like this:

    coax line from Direct TV dish -> DTV "Genie" box -> Xbox 1 -> TV -> Soundbar via digital audio cable.

    I haven't tried going from the Xbox to the soundbar, which I suppose I could, but I was curious what I did wrong with this setup that would prevent me from hearing player chatter ONLY in my headset.

    redid my XBOX ONE setup with new soundbar - now game/party chat is through soundbar and I dont want that

    I used to have an old receiver sound system and I could hear game audio on the TV and both game and player chat in my headset. I replaced my sound system with a soundbar, and now I hear player/party chat through the soundbar and I dont want that - only game
    audio.

    My wiring is a linear sequence like this:

    DirectTV Dish ---> DTV DVR ----> XBOX1 ---> TV ----> Soundbar

    Everything works, but I hear player chat in both the headset and on the soundbar and I want player chat ONLY in the headset like it was before. Any ideas?

    XBox One no longer plays audio from headphones or chat headset

    In chat friends can hear me talk but I hear nothing. Changed setting to headset/speakers and can hear them talk thru TV. Thought maybe the controller was gimp but I tried several does it on all. Thought maybe headset was gimp so tried headphones and they
    all show up as chat and I hear party chat in them but not the game audio like I used to. I'm assuming I clicked the wrong thing in the settings can anyone help? 5 days ago chat worked fine and I could mute tv and hear game thru headphones. Now nothing. So
    confused. Everything seems to be working fine.

    Party chat problems

    With four different controllers and three different headsets one brand new out of the box if I'm in a party chat it's extremely loud I Echo and everybody's headset they could hear a pin drop in my house everything that goes on there's feedback loops
    I have the TV volume off but yet they can still hear all the sound through my headset gaming sound mic Extremely Loud can hear anything in my house have all the settings turned as low as I can can't find what is wrong
    If you have TV sound off and in party other player can hear your game sounds, you are using an headset combo game sound/party chat.

    Can you share with us your headset brand and model? For all of this because you say that have 3 different headsets.

    This additional info can help us.

    Not game audio, game chat.

    In settings, Xbox has an option to make party chat output go through your headset, headset and TV, or TV.

    but that's only for party chat. i've always wondered why xbox can't do the same for in-game chat too?

    With in game chat, if your headset is plugged in; game chat automatically goes to the headset, with no option to have it output through TV.

    really sucks when you can't wear headsets, you can't play socially outside of parties. (in party chat; i use my headset mic, but have their voice output through my TV. game chat has no option to do this, you must wear your headset to hear teammates)

    I think its a third party headset , it is not a microsoft headset but stereo headset. . Yes he can sometimes hear other players . He is using Fortnite in game chat.

    You're using the stock headset that came with your Xbox One bundle?

    That mono headset only inputs and outputs game and party chat on the Xbox One. You wouldn't be able to hear TV sound with that.

    Here is ONE brand of headsets that would be able to do what you are asking for:
