I used my email and logged into someones account that doesn't belong to me

I went to login to games for windows live and it logged me into this persons account and they are using my email.

old original XBL account and GT

So i used to have an account on the original xbox live and when i got a 360 i started a new account (this one), this was before gamer scores and getting cred for how long you have been on live, i have tried to log into my old account but it doesn't seem
to exist anymore or rather the GT seems to belong to someone else, i logged into my old email on this site and my GT didn't exist anymore. anyone know what happened? i used to have thousands of post with that account on this web site under that name, I know
this was over a decade ago but anyone know what happened? i figured it was mine since it was linked to my email

Password randomly changed

A few days ago I tried to log into my Xbox Live account and I was told that my password was wrong. I reset my password using the alternate email linked to my account and when I check the "Recent Activity" page I noticed that someone located in Redmond, WA
somehow changed my password, then successfully logged into my account without any verification from my alternate email. Can someone please tell me what is going on?

Sorry to hear it. It sounds as though you've accidentally created a new gamertag overtop the existing one. Please follow the steps below to move the tag to a different email address freeing up your main one.

Right I bought my Xbox years ago from someone on eBay and he gave me the account on it now I want the games off it but don't know the password for the email how do I change it I want to put the games on my Xbox 1

You wont be able to use this account or it's games since it doesn't belong to you.

Even if they seller provided the account willingly its actually against the rules for them to do so and using someone elses account (even with their permission) is against the rules and can result in a ban.

You could ask Xbox Support if they will link another email account to the account in question. Then when you have the ability to log in to your account I suggest deleting the email account that does not belong to you.

My account is not "lost". I can log into it on Xbox live and on the forum. (i posted this question from "account 2". I however cannot log into it on the Microsoft page, because it logs me into account 1, using account 2's email.
If I use email 1 or 2 on Microsoft page, it logs me into account 1.
account 1 email logs me into account 1 on xbox
account 2 email logs me into account 2 on xbox
I don't want account 2. but i want to use email 2 for account 1. for everything.
Email 2 is not listed as an alias on account 1. but that's the email my verification code goes to from account 1 and 2.
Anytime I use a code for account 1 or 2 it just logs me into account 1 on Microsoft.
Even while on this forum for account 2, I click "my Microsoft account" and it take me to account 1.

No, they shouldn't. Just because someone hasn't used an account for a while doesn't mean they never will again, that account belongs to the person who made it and it should be their decision when to close it.
