So I got the adapter as soon as I heard it would now work with Windows 7 and 8.1.

Well everything installs fine except the xinput driver, when I try to install the driver or use Windows update to update the driver it just says that the xinput driver isn't compatible with my platform.

I have tried using Windows trouble shooting and that diden't help either. So I tried the adapter on 2 laptops one running Windows 7 and another running 8.1 and the adapter installed just fine, even the xinput drivers and the controller got picked up in games.

I have tried uninstalling everything a couple of times and rebooting, but that doesen't help either. So I don't really know what to do to get the xinput drivers to work with my platform (Windows 7 home premium Service Pack 1)

Any help or advice would be appreciated!

It may be worthwhile to look at the installation logs at C:\windows\inf\setupapi.dev.log, especially the tail end having the most recent installation events to understand what it doesn't like in your configuration.

Further Info. PC running Windows 7 Home Premium. Music folder is shared the same as pictures and video folders. I am able to use play to feature on windows media player on pc to play music on the xbox one.

Hmm, what Windows version did you guys use, mine is Window 10 Anniversary Update with all update as of 1 September 2016, XBox Accessories version 100.1607.29001.0. If you use the same version as mine may be it window related problems?

Thing is if you install the XBox One Controller driver for Window 7/8/8.1 and force windows to use that driver the controller digital buttons work but not the analog sticks and the triggers.

Maybe you guys try to find someone with the XBox One and try what I suggested above? They said it should not be more that 30 minutes. Remember to remove the battery, only use the cable to connect, not wireless.
