Cmon, I get this error like every other day now, and today it won't connect, no matter what I do. I've disconnected my router/modem/Xbox so many times tonight I can't remember. I'm left with no options left, anyone help? I'm on the Xbox One by the way.

    :)

Xbox is connected to wifi and my profile can sign in, yet it still says "connect to xbox live"

I recommend having an Xbox connection over a wired network connection. It is more reliable and faster. Wireless connection is not very reliable.

  3. Sick of wireless, using a new wired connection, can't connect

It is set to a static IP of 192.168.0.18

I set XBox static IP to 192.168.0.84

The wireless was hit or miss, which is why I chose to go with a Wired connection finally. I was constantly getting bad connections, 3 bars in the game. My NAT was always on strict. And I'd get the Server Connection Timed Out issue, only to join back into
the same exact game, which means it was my wireless dropping my connection.

I want something with a more reliable and faster connection. It was rare to get 4 bars in a match

    What errors?

    Be more specific.

Also tell us the make and model numbers of you router and modem as that will be helpful when someone tries to help you.

I think the XB1 has a serious network stack/software issue. I also get frequent disconnects, can't find DHCP server messages, or otherwise random networking disconnects and errors that can only be fixed will a full hard reset/reboot.

Been happening since August 2014 update, and has not gotten any better thru Sept-Nov updates.

    PLEASE FIX THIS XBOX.

A few interesting things... regarding WiFi on my xbox.

If connected to a WPA or WPA2 secured 5Ghz or 2.5Ghz strong signal etwork, within 5mins to 1 hour the connection will drop, and always reject the correct password until the XBox is hard rebooted.

If I connect to an OPEN 5Ghz or 2.4Ghz connect, it's slightly more stable but still drops connection when 'off (sleep). As when I turn my xbox on again it has disconnected and will NOT reconnect without a full reboot.

Short Question, is it worth to use Network Cable Connection ?

I personally use a wired connection more for reliability of connection than speed, on my main console. It all depends on the router you are using, what your ISP speeds are etc.

With a wired connection I am constantly hitting the speed provided by my ISP, over WiFi it fluctuates on a spare console in another room.
