I use a PS4 controller to play games and I have to keep unplugging and plugging it back in...

Both controllers work perfectly on the PS4. I have never used a controller until these. I have WIndows 11. I have a attached a screenshot from the device manager.

Will DS4Windows completely change my entire system or will it stay Windows 11? Does it cost anything? Also would it work for playing Fortnite?

I have tried a couple different cables and the same thing happens. One controller is an actual PlayStation controller and the other is a different brand but its supposed to be compatible with PS4 and PC but it does the same thing as the other one.

I can help you with couple things to try, but if the issue persists you may need to refer to third apps to use properly the controller, due to Dualshock 4 support for windows is limited from Sony side

The controller works fine on the console?
Is this the first time you use the controller with this PC?
And which windows version are you using? 11 or 10?

Thanks, yes. As I said DualShock 4 controllers are not supported correctly by Windows due to official drivers lack.

Usually the people use DS4Windows software to configure/use the controllers properly.

In case you don't have installed the program, try giving it a shot (also, try using a different USB cable in case it's the actual the one that's causing the issue)

DS4Windows is a third party program compatible with both Windows 10 ar 11.

So it will not change your entire system, it adds support and let you use Dualshock 4 and 5 controller
