I thought the Game DVR was only able to record 5 Minute Clips of gameplay...

...but after snapping to the Game DVR and using the "Start Clip Now" button to record while I playing, (which said itself, you can only record up to 5 minutes) I somehow managed to record a total of 8 minutes and 40 seconds in one clip.

Is this a glitch or is there something I don't understand? I'm not complaining, i'm just wondering.

Recording gameplay through steaming without a capture card?

Thanks for the reply, but I thought Upload and Game DVR captured 30 second clips only? I want to record 15+ mins of gameplay to upload.

Pick how long you want to be recorded of past gameplay (5 minutes max)

It depends on what you are recording and how much is going on whether a full 5 minutes or more/less is recorded. As far as I'm aware it records a certain amount of data at a time not limited by time but averaging five minutes.

So, not that much data when recording Battlefield 4? That's where I got the 8 minute and 40 second clip from.

That's interesting though.

Does the same apply to the Upload Studio? Say I want to Upload that 8 minute clip, would it let me? Or is it Time restricted? I'd assume it's still related to data as you said, but just to make sure.

I think you can record whatever, but you can only upload 5 min clips. Not sure though

Try experimenting with it & let us know how it goes! Be sure to save the original copy though, just in case something goes disastrously wrong - no worries! =D

Like I said it depends on what was going on during the recording if you were playing Conquest 64 player on shanghai and the building fell during the clip and people were constantly blasting you with tank rounds and choppers while you were driving a tank
yourself with someone repairing you while hoards of enemies ran at you on foot shooting rockets, it would be less than a simple 10 minute game of TDM which it could probably record
