    My Xbox 360 Slim is 13 months old (of course out of warranty), we do not game we only use it for TV use (hulu, Netflix, NBC app). It was working perfectly fine yesterday morning then suddenly last night when we turned it on, it says update needed...will
    not download update, it gives the error of no storage space... then we discover everything is gone, the profiles are missing and the xbox is basically blank like when you first buy it. It is a 4GB, but when looking at memory it says there is 742MB free yet
    all of the content below says 0KB used, so it's not showing anything we can delete or move. It did not come with the external/additional hard drive, only internal. So there is a hole in the back where an extra hard drive would go. I've tried logging in to
    our profile but it just pops back to the original screen and won't find the profile. I've also tried creating a new profile and after entering a new name, it simply does nothing. I've tried formatting, wont do anything.

    I talked with the ambassador live chat, they said "looks like your hard drive is corrupted" and then ended the chat. LOL really? I needed to ask questions but okayyyy. How does this happen? Do I need to replace the internal hard drive or the entire console?
    Can I just add the additional hard drive without replacing the internal one? Is this a costly issue?

    ugh this is so aggravating when this thing is not that old, barely used, and treated perfectly.

    So incredibly frustrated

    My sons got an Xbox One for Christmas. There were so many problems getting it installed because of service issues that they went back to playing the 360. We finally got the One up and running, but we have had terrible problems logging on to live (mostly
    on the 360's). If and when we do finally get logged on, half the time they get kicked back off again. We have gotten a new router. It's a top of the line Linksys. Should easily reach everywhere in our 1300 sq foot house. We took the old modem in to Comcast
    and got a new one. We have had Comcast come out to check our connection to the house. It all keeps coming back to it being an Xbox issue. My kids don't get to play often; it's a huge treat for them when they get to. For 3 weeks now I have been dealing
    with disappointment after disappointment because they can't get connected to Xbox live. One of my sons didn't have an Xbox live account. It took us 3 days to get connected long enough to get him signed up. But now he can rarely get logged in, so what's
    the point? The other boy has an xbox gold membership. I might as well be flushing money down the toilet given how little he's been able to play it recently. Anyone have any idea when these issues might be resolved? This is ridiculous.

  5. Okay so I just read that apparently I can't attempt to TALK ABOUT my hardware issues or my about will be banned? Are you kidding me??? This isn't communist Russia 1975... I OWN this console and if it is a piece of junk at only 13 months old then I OWN the
    right to try and fix it however my pocketbook seems appropriate- I PAY for a gold account (which actually is ridiculous just to use apps)... So if you're going to ban my monthly account payment then you go right ahead because my xbox is a useless box of plastic
    right now- and my Wii is FREE.

    Good LORD Microsoft you're crazy and greedy

  6. Whoever told you that you can't talk about your hardware issue is wrong. The discussion of unauthorized repairs to a console (opening it up yourself to replace parts for example) is not allowed and can lead to a ban from the forums but that is not what
    you are doing so don't worry. Since you have tried formatting and that hasn't helped, you may need to set up a repair through Microsoft. Since you are out of warranty it may cost somewhere near $100 but if there aren't any other suggestions from these forums
    then that may be what you need to do.

    Also, beginning in June you will not need Gold to use the streaming video apps and if you have an active subscription you can cancel it once the changes have been put into effect. They will give you credit for any time remaining. Good luck!

    So here's the update- maybe someone out there has had this problem and can help.

    I've realized it's not a memory issue- it's like caught in a "loop". The console is requesting an update- but it won't update because there's no connection to the internet. But it won't let me connect to the internet without an update. WHAT THE HECK.
    I just wasted 40 minutes with an xbox person who was ZERO HELP, and of course her final recommendation was "send it in". Really??? YOUR UPDATE caused my console to wig out and now I have to pay you to fix it?

    I just told her to cancel my account. If I can't find an answer today of how to fix this glitch then it's going in the trash and I'm never ever spending another dime on Microsoft products. So irritated

    Microsoft I promise you I won't buy anything of yours ever again.
