I think my xbox one s hard drive isdamaged. what do i do

I was playing Call of Duty and the screen froze and it sent me to the main menu. After that I couldn't open the game or any other game again. I went to a store and they told me to format the console and it worked but it failed again. I checked and it could be that the hard drive was damaged.

- May I ask exactly what happens when you try to launch a game? do you get any error codes/messages?

- Do you have any external storage units plugged into your console?

- Did you get any error codes/messages during the factory reset/update process?

Yes I have the original Xbox one s controller that came with the system. Do I have to use that to reset my Xbox one s system?

It's 2 am and I don't feel like in doing this now. I'll do it on Sunday night or Monday .

What about the hard drive do I format the hard drive too? Or leave it alone?

I installed them on my old xbox one and transferred them to the external hard drive so I know they are on the hard drive

All my installed games appear correctly as installed on my Xbox one if I connect the hard drive to it. But when I connect the hard drive to my Series S, most of the installed games appear but about 9 of them do not. The missing games appear as ready to install on my Series S

I think its my hard drive ive tried all the rebooting ways. What do i do if its my hard drive.

It was not a bad previous idea. I do not have an external hard drive for my Xbox one series S.
