i unpluged it and put it up for about 2 weeks it ended up turning back on, but it shuts off after like 5-30 minutes I've had this Xbox one s for about 2 years and one day i spilled some apple juice on it I wiped it off and realized my Xbox turned off it randomly turned on about a month or two later now everytime I press the button it starts up and clicks what should I do.

I think my hard drive is faulty or my fan how do I fix the "clicks of death"

Hi Mac, my name is Joel, I'm here to help you with any problems or questions you may have.

Mac, unfortunately what it describes is a major hardware problem that can only be solved by a technician through a review and repair, even more so when it indicates that at some point before this began to occur his console received liquid which possibly could have entered inside it affecting components.

The only possible recommendation in these cases is to take your console to a local electronics technician or workshop to have it checked.

Please note that this is only a public forum, I will respond to you in a short period of time as far as possible apologizing in advance for any delay in replying. I am simply a user trying to provide information and knowledge that may be useful to others, I am not an employee of Microsoft.

Why did my Xbox One S beep and click

it was coming from the hard drive. i did an internet seach and the clicking noise was similar to the "hard drive click of death". A failing hard drive.

My cousin's xbox one S made the same clicking noise with no beep, the clicking in his xbox was coming from the fan

Xbox one console making clicking noise AND now games are running slowly (offline)

I'm certain that your console is faulty. The clicking noise you are hearing may actually be coming from the hard drive. Faulty hard drives can make this sound it's own as the 'hard drive click of death'. Since all Xbox One games need to be installed to
the hard drive, the crashes could well be related to this.

This isn't an issue that regularly pops up on the Xbox One, after all, it only uses the same type of hard drive as your typical laptop. I think this is where your issue is.

Either way it needs to be replaced/repaired.

Xbox One "Cricket Noise" when playing games

Interesting.. How often does the sound happen? Is it random, or do you get the same sounds when you play certain games?

I will see if my drive makes any weird sounds with Chariot, and will follow up.

If a hard drive was faulty, or if the drive heads were failing, you'd here a knocking/clicking sound on a constant basis, and things would load at a snail pace.

It could be dust on the fan. But opening the box voids any warranty.

    Hard drive click of death?

If you are hearing a clicking noise coming from your internal hard drive. This click would sound like a hard metal on metal click I would suggest sending in your Xbox for repair. You can do that here:

    support.xbox.com/.../getting-your-product-serviced

If you are unsure of the clicking you can always try a factor reset and see if that corrects it, however if the sound you describe is what I think it is your HD may be on its way to crashing.

While moving your games to an external will keep them downloaded and off the internal once that internal drive crashes the external will be useless as the Xbox OS resides on the internal drive. Repair it as soon as possible.
