    Here's my short story. I buy the original xbox 360, then it gets the red ring so i get another one which also gets the red ring. So i wait until very recently to buy a xbox slim. I then buy a transfer cable also to transfer my profile from the hardrive from
    the red ringed xbox 360. Then i find out i need the email address and password associated with my gamertag. I don't remember the password. I then try and log into my email after years of not logging inn and i find out that it has been deactivated by yahoo
    because of not using it. So i call inn to recover my profile and they tell me it'll take 3 days for them to send me an email, because they expidited(or something like that), i wait and nothing, on the 4th day i call again and they tell me it'll take 3-5 business
    days from when i first called, so i wait. No Email. Now they tell me that they may also call me!!!!!! WTH. Why would they call me, i thought they were going to email me. And they tell me to wait another 2-3 business days. All i wanted was to get back into
    my old account. Im done.

    Have you tried switching out your batteries? Also I think SIL3NT SNIP3R09 meant clear cache and restart console, not catch. Try switching characters as well.

    doesnt let me download games with gold

    i just purchased xbox live 12 moths and i got a popup saying im not allowed to make any purchases. and it wont let me obtain the free game with gold for this month. and what happened to online chat support. i always said xbox support was the best and now
    im considering switching over. forums suck

    I don't think your experience will be very different with PSN.

    Have you tried re-creating the Yahoo e0mail? Set up a new account with Yahoo using the same e-mail and you can send yourself the reset link.

  6. I would never have thought to do that if that situation happend to me that was a good suggestion lol I have raged over all of xboxs crappy help before so either way is a good idea I think. Didn't have a problem like this when I was first in psn. Then again
    that was years ago they could have changed. Just like Xbox did

  7. I liked your answer fredg, but i tried creating the email and it turns out somebody already took my email addrress. I hope microsoft isn't sending them the passwords for my account. That will suck if they do.

    You can follow these steps

    If you don't keep your info upto date the issue is yours not ms

    Ms has to follow the laws on privacy to the letter if you cannot prove who you are then Noone can help you

    Not sony not even the internet

    If you used random info only no one can help you

    That article has clear methods of reseting your password as long as you can prove who you are

    Also psn has to follow the same rules

  9. Im not complaining about the process of getting my account back. Im complaining about the xbox support telling me they'll send me an email in 3 days, and i don't get anything. then calling again and them telling me it might take another 2 days. So i wait
    2 more days and i don't get anything. Then i call again and they perform the process all over again and tell me they will send me and email or call me in another 2-3 business days. I just want them to keep their word and not tell me something if its not true,
    i don't mind waiting as long as i know when ill receive the email. Also, the reason i didn't keep my info up to date is because my white xbox 360 got the red rings of death years ago, it was my second xbox to get the red rings, so i waited years before getting
    the slim, and now i can't access my account. Btw, the ps2 that i bought 12 years ago still works, so i know what my next gen console is going to be. Im not mad, i understand business and i know microsoft does too, Its business and the language is money, so
    i won't be talking with microsoft anymore.

    Have you tried ms accounts?

    Or are you trying to bypass the process

    If you done attempt 3 times to work with ms support xbox support won't look at your case

    This is why you must actually post at answers.microsoft.com and fill out the forms

    And ms will only look at honest efforts not phishing attempts

    This is a process even ms has to follow

    The only way an account can be reset is if the account holder proves that he is the account holder

    i got the red rings on my xbox years ago. When they searched the email i gave them my gamertag appeared as the profile associated with that email. I understand theres a process for security reasons, but i just want them to tell me when ill get the email. or
    if their going to call me they should tell me their going to call me so i can be ready for the phone call. I need them to be specific on what they will do, either call me or email me(which i prefer), but i don't want them to tell me they might do both, because
    i can't be home all day waiting for a phone call. unless they leave the message on my answering machine.
