    I think I may have a problem with the new Minecraft Better Together update...


    I recently downloaded the new version of Minecraft with the better together update, and it transferred over most of my DLC just fine but for some reason it has not transferred over the DLC I got with the favourites pack. Is this intentional? If it is that
    means that when I payed for the favourites pack I wasted my money if I can't even transfer it over, since if I can't transfer over its practically worthless now.

    Hi Dylan,

    Thanks for keeping us updated with your replies. If the version of Minecraft you're using on disc is the Minecraft: Xbox One edition, then to update to the new Minecraft (Better Together), you'll need to purchase the game as it is a wholly different version.
    The free update from Minecraft: Xbox One edition to the new Minecraft edition (Better Together) ended on January 30th 2018.

    Thanks for reaching out to us here on the forums with this situation. I understand you're having questions about how to install the better together edition of Minecraft. Usually by default you were able to get the Better Together version as part of an update.
    However that may have been promotional and sometimes can change to a paid purchase. Take a look at this helpful support article:

    Has anyone found a solution? I'm having the EXACT same problem. Word for word, with Minecraft. I've had Minecraft since the release of the Better Together update (new version of Minecraft) There was an update, it wouldn't let me update, so I uninstalled
    and tried reinstalling---it tried to reinstall but prompted me with that error message with the code.

    Sorry to hear that you're having this problem trying to update Minecraft. You might need to update your game to newer version of Minecraft released with the Better Together update. Last year, Mojang created a newer version that can only be installed digitally
    after buying it. They did offer it for free for a limited time, however it has since past. You can find more information on this update here on the

    At this point, I refer to Mojang support and see if there is a means for you to get that new version, or purchase the new Minecraft through the Microsoft Store.
