I still can't play GTA 5 Online......help?!?!

Well I tried loading online once I was in story mode, and it worked.....kind of. I was able to complete the initial race, which I won, so I was happy.....then it kicked me off again....not happy. Tried to load it two more times, and it got me nowhere.
I emailed Rockstar, so hopefully they can figure this out. Thanks for the help though!!

 

Have you checked your NAT settings? If they are set to strict, it can cause problems playing multiplayer online. You can test your connection through the settings menu on the xbox dashboard, it will tell you if they are strict. If they are, you should adjust
your router port settings.

 

if your still having issues with your internet connection, try this, and do exactly as it says,

1.Press the Guide button on your controller, select Settings, and select System Settings.

2.Select Network Settings.

3.Select Wired Network or the name of your wireless network when the network list is displayed.

4.Select Configure Network.

5.On the Additional Settings tab, select Restore to Factory Defaults. When prompted, select Yes, Restore to Factory Defaults.

Note This resets the console's network settings only, and not other settings.

6.Turn off your console.

7.Turn on your console.

Wireless only: You will receive a message to configure wireless settings. Follow the on-screen instructions to connect to your wireless network.

Now test your Xbox Live connection:

1.Press the Guide button on your controller, then select Settings, select System Settings, and select Network Settings.

2.Select the name of your Wireless Network, or select Wired Network for a wired connection.

3.Select Test Xbox Live Connection

 

I just checked my NAT settings and I think you may be right, looks like there is a problem with them. I got a YELLOW Exclamation Mark right next to Match Making. I went to xbox.com/servicealerts, like the screen suggested, but I cannot make heads or tails
on how to fix the problem. I googled how to fix my router but everything I found is based on earlier versions of windows, and I have windows 8, so I'm clueless right now. Thanks anyway though, looks like I finally know what the problem might be. Just going
to take some digging to figure out how to fix it.

 

Went through those steps Z4ZonE, still having the same issues. Yellow exclamation mark next to Match Making whenever I test my network connection. Thanks though!!

Could be the following:

1) NAT setting is set to Intermediate or Strict

2) Connection to Online is slow

3) PING is high (this is more of a PC gaming issue but I think it still applies)

4) Other players have low ping or slow internet, affecting everyone else

It turned out that 'strict NAT' was my problem. After resetting my router it opened it back up and have had no problems connecting again.

I can't even think how long my NAT was strict for... weeks maybe. It wasn't until I was playing some CoD with a friend I noticed it was strict.

 

Turning it off and on again normally sorts most things out. Some routers are just plain awkward though; my friend had to change ISP to get a new router that allowed him to access XBL. Plus what works for one won't necessarily work for another.

 

why is it saying files required to play GTA online could not be downloaded from rock star games service....... Why does it say that
