    I was experiencing ping issues and connection issues while the games I had been playing so I decided to hard reset my Xbox but then it would not say that I had Xbox Live and I could not use the online features

    Apparently I "don't have"Xbox live

    I have experienced something like this before, but that was when my membership was on the verge of expiring. This time my xbox keeps telling me, "you don't have Xbox live". But when I check my membership it says my gold expires in March of 2018. I am very
    annoyed with this, because I can't do anything with live when I own it. I just want to play with my friends and I don't want to buy gold again when I already have it. It's bad enough you have to pay for access to the Internet on your own Xbox! I hope someone
    can help! P.S. I have tried resetting my xbox and nothing works, just in case you were wondering. Also I did go through backwards compatibility and it said I didn't have gold on their first. That is when I started exeperiencing these problems on my xbox one.

    Windows Live ID for games account... I don't use Xbox. Im trying to play Grand Theft Auto on my PC. I don't own an Xbox... Apparently I need windows live to play Grand Theft Auto which I bought from steam lol.

If you're able, please contact us directly at Xbox Support - Contact Us so we may assist with the purchase.

    As for the error, can you please confirm if you were attempting to make this purchase directly through your Xbox console or through a web browser on PC? Are you able to download the game as a Game Pass subscriber?

    Merging Windows 8 account with Xbox Live

    I have this exact same issue, and I tried to change the Windows Live ID my Gamertag is associated with. Apparently it is only doable through an Xbox 360, which I don't own.

    This seems like a major oversight, considering XBOX Live is now used across Windows 8, Windows Phone, Games for Windows, etc. Might want to build a web interface for doing this...

    Exists the possibility that you purchased the game with a different account. Let's try to find the account used to purchase this game

    For this please go to your Microsoft account order history

    https://account.microsoft.com/billing/orders

    Once there, make sure to change the "3 months" filter and use instead "All available" next to "Ordered within"

    Then start looking each item purchased with your account and see if you're able to find the game with order status "completed"

    If you have more than one email please check the order history with each one
