I received the disc version of a game i have on gamepass

Someone give me as a gift Gears of war 4 in disc. I already have this game installed on my hdd because of gamepass. Question is. If i want to use disc, should i erase the digital version or injust insert disc?

I think Gamepass is worth the money. I personally use it as a way to play games that I might not have played before. Or to play some older games that I missed when they came out. The games in the catalog are the full versions of the game and
you have access to them as long as you have a subscription and they are in gamepass. One major benefit of Gamepass for me is all Microsoft First party games will be coming to gamepass on day 1. That includes games like Halo, Fable, Gears of War, Crackdown,
and Forza. If you are going to buy only 2 of those games when they come out then a Year of Gamepass has paid for itself.

I've used gamepass to play the NBA 2k games when they show up, there have even been some indie games that have released day 1. I've been very pleased with the service and use it more than I thought it would.

Xbox Game Pass

I received an offer yesterday to renew my gamepass for one year and as part of my renewal I would receive two Forza games. I renewed my gamepass but I can not figure out out to gain access to the games promised.

Pointless inserting the disc as it won't be read anyway. If you're connected to Live or have the console set as the Home machine, the first thing the system will do is check the license. If the licence is digital then the disc won't even be accessed.

There is practicaly no difference between disc games and digital, only the medium in which they are delivered.

most of the time no, but the digital licence will supercede the disc version.

if you downloaded a game in gamepass for example then buy the disc version, there would be no point using the disc while that game is in gamepass, if it leaves gamepass then just pop in the disc and it should work fine (should but this is Microsoft lol).

I would recommend uninstalling the game xompletely, reboot the system and then insert the disc to play. I know it was on gamepass before then removed, so that may be the version you have installed.

I believe that games you bought digitally/gamepass games require internet had the same issue when my internet went offline it said everytime that i needed internet connection to play the game or insert a disc so i believe you can only play offline if you
have the disc version of the game
