I purchases a new Xbox and I cannot retrieve all of my old games from my account?

Hi Mr Darcy, I think my situation is a little more complicated than changing my account via console. first things first when I try they prompt me for my old account password. I have lost my old account password. not only that, I cannot retrieve it as the
account seems to have been closed due to not logging in for sometime. So I am stuck in a situation where my existing Xbox live GT is tied to a expired windows account. I created a new one with my new email and am now trying to tie this windows account to
my old GT. But if I cannot gain access to my old windows account to change it, I cannot do anything. Hope this clarifies.

But even if i buy new one, my main reason is to retrieve my old nickname tied to previous account. I can buy new copy, but all I need is my nickname

That is what I was fearing to hear.

I believe my last chance is try to retrieve it from my old Xbox (banned) console. But it is only seeing dust for some years, and the very old dashboard version probably won't allow me to use an USB storage device to transfer to my new Console.

And I don't mind a refund ... the value is not that great, I would even by the game again if needed !

I was wondering .... if I update my old console from an USB stick, them I might be able to retrieve the game and copy over to my new Console (am I using the very same Live ID from the old console). Any chance of this to succeed ?

Thanks, the gametags still exists I find it on my new Xbox with my new account ... except as I can not remember the email address attach impossible to add it to retrieve my purchase

You cannot merge accounts, the workaround if you have any games or subscriptions in the old, just set the old account in your xbox as "Home Xbox" and in the new just log in.

In this case, the new account will receive all share games or subscription from the first. You can follow this
