I purchased GTA Xbox series 1 it says it’s not compatible ? What do I do?

Try to check what console you own.

Xbox series X looks like this: https://www.xbox.com/consoles/xbox-series-x

If it doesn't look like the one you have, then that means you own Xbox One. Please know that GTA Online is only compatible with Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S.

GTA V stand-alone is not offered in the Store anymore, though, it's only available in a bundle here: https://www.xbox.com/games/store/grand-theft-au... click "Choose Editions" to see varieties of the bundle.

Moreover, you can process a refund by signing in at xbox.com/refunds

You are also talking about 10 years difference in technology

nothing, as everybody is entitled to their own opinion, or just state that's ok, you enjoy your PlayStation and ill enjoy my Xbox. both have their strengths and weaknesses.

If it is specifically the Series S/X version, are you sure you have a Series S and not a One S? You would get that error message if you're trying to install the Series S version on the One.

According to your description, there are two versions of this game, the Xbox One version and the Xbox Series X/S version, and after I checked, these two versions are not sold separately, so a possible guess is whether you have downloaded the Xbox One version of this game, you can browse your console's game library to confirm the version you have downloaded.
