Downloaded a game and i cant play it.

I'm having the same problem. Tried playing Halo and Fable off the disc, neither works. I have a microsoft 250 gb hard drive and it's worked prior to this just fine. Tried downloading Fable since the disc wasn't working and I get the same error message as
OP. Tried deleting and redownloading, same error. Tried clearing cache, same error. Does anyone know if support has been removed for these games?

Hi, sorry to hear of the issue. They are a couple of things to try to get it to work.

1. Do a power cycle (hold power button down on console until it turns off, then wait a couple of minutes and turn back on). Then try the game again.

2. Uninstall the game, then reinstall the game. Then try the game again.

Hopefully one of these solutions will work for you.

The same thing happened to me but on Xbox one I purchased the treasure map and since then whenever I load the game or while I’m playing it just crashed and kicks me off

I've had a similar thing happen to me recently. Initially, the game that gave me problems needed an update, but upon returning to the game post-update, the security check prompt would pop up asking for info. I'd enter my info, but then it would give me an
error code. It would keep me offline, and when I'd attempt to sign in again, it would send me back through the same loop. The only way I'd get back online was to restart the system. So, I decided to delete the game instead and re-download it. Now, I get kicked
off of Live every time I load up a game. I can still log back in after the game starts, but it's still annoying.

For now, I got it working by downloading from Xbox site. It loaded about 1.9 gb onto my drive. When I kick off a game, it wants to see a disc in the DVD; I suppose that is because the license I have is tied to a DVD disk version.

But before I did that, I found out that the problem was a hardware issue; my DVD reader was dropping out. So I used a different one, it loaded all disks fine. However, it did not create any sort of launcher/link to kick off a game, and I could not find anything that looked like it would kick off a game. That is when I did the above, ie, a digital install.

This is working fine but I have a few questions

1) Can I remove the disks that I've loaded? If I am in fact using the small amount downloaded for the digital version, and a connection to xbox games, then I believe the 120 gb or so of files aren't being used. As they are on my C drive I'd like to free up that space.

2) If I upgrade to Deluxe can I upgrade to the digital version?
